Rainbirds: Through The Web Of Time – 40 Years, One Voice – Anniversary Concerts 2026

“These will be the best Rainbirds there have ever been,” says Katharina Franck, the guiding spirit and unmistakable voice of the band, and the only constant in the ever-evolving line-up since 1986. “Or, as I sing in my song ‘Meilenstein’, it will be nothing less than ‘the turning point as a place of calm in turbulent days — the caesura as a starting point for many new questions.’”

Through The Web of Time – 40 Years of Rainbirds

In 1986, the Rainbirds turned a plan into a hit. With “Blueprint”, they created not just a song but a true blueprint for intelligent, emotionally resonant pop music. Four decades later, the sound of the Berlin band led by singer and songwriter Katharina Franck still proves one thing: when pop music is done right, it goes straight to the heart.

The Rainbirds’ songs remain as relevant and evocative as ever, tender and playful, expansive yet minimalist. They have always carried within them a quiet insistence: the desire to be heard.

To celebrate their 40th anniversary, the Rainbirds return to the stage in an (expanded) original line-up. Joining founding members Katharina Franck and bassist Michael Beckmann are long-time Rainbird, pianist and composer Ulrike Haage, along with electric guitarist Werner Neumann and drummer Dominique “Gaga” Ehlert.

For this anniversary concert series, which shines a spotlight on their seven albums, from the acclaimed debut “Rainbirds” to 2014’s “Yonder”, the band welcomes special guests Rodrigo González (Die Ärzte) and founding member Wolfgang Glum.
